Cazar vs. casar

Si bien estas palabras tienen un sonido muy parecido o incluso igual en ciertos países, nótese que una se escribe con “z” y la otra se escribe con “s” y sus significados son muy diferentes.

While these words sound very similar or even the same in some Spanish speaking countries, note that one is spelled with a “z” and the other one is spelled with an “s” and their meanings are very different.

Cazar:

Buscar o perseguir a ciertos animales para apresarlos o matarlos.

Searching for or chasing certain animals in order to capture or kill them.

Ejemplo: Gaturro, un ratón…¡cazalo!

Casar:

Contraer matrimonio.

Get married.

Ejemplo: ¿Qué pasó en la historieta? Gaturro casó a los ratones, es decir que éstos contrajeron matrimonio.
